The NPort IA range from Moxa allows serial (RS232, RS422 or RS485) devices such as sensors, meters, motors, drives, barcode readers, displays and instrumentation to communicate across IP networks. This means that existing LAN or WAN infrastructures can be used to route serial data to a host PC. A pair of NPort IA units can be used in tandem to provide transparent serial tunnelling across a network - the serial data that goes in one end, comes out the other!
