A variety of software tools have been created that enable you to set up the most complex of tasks with simple selection of a few options, which can save weeks of programming. The onboard operating system, DAPL, provides all the commands you need to run data acquisition and control applications. Software that runs on the host PC, acts as the user interface for the DAP, and provides disk logging and graphing capabilities. The following software packages are available:-
DAPStudio 2 DAP Measurement Studio 2 has now been enhanced to create elegant and powerful data acquisition systems, particularly when high channel counts or real-time components are required. DAPstudio lets you develop applications quickly and easily without any programming expertise. In most cases you really need no other software to develop and run any application. Features include
Graphically configure input and output hardware
Select and number sub-ranges of channels for rapid channel configuration
Use DAPstudio to design advanced applications using onboard processing.
Automatic declaration of all DAPL symbols: pipes, variables, constants, triggers etc
Interactively design filters that run on your DAP board

DAPTOOLS BASIC This package is included free with every DAP board or iDSC purchased and includes:-
-DAPview for Windows provides a standard way to implement an application on a Data Acquisition Processor without doing any Windows programming. By clicking on icons you can open windows that allow you to edit the command list, interact with the DAP and log data to disk. Tested applications can be completed for distribution under DAPview for Windows runtime package with no additional Windows programming required.
-DAPlog Plus for Windows should be used in addition to DAPview. They are both used to control the DAP board by sending DAPL commands, however with DAPLog Plus you implicitly specify predefined sets of commands by navigating a graphical interface. This allows
Configure the inputs
Display data in a graph
Display data in a table
Log data to disk
-FGen for Windows 1.01 can produce several filter types: low pass, high pass, bandpass, bandstop, and running average with Blackman, Hamming, and Hanning windowing. FGen also provides plots of filter response as dB vs. frequency and amplitude vs. frequency
DAPstudio 30 day evaluation (full version included with DAPtools Professional as detailed below)
DAPTOOLS STANDARD This package provides everything included in DAPtools Basic plus the following:-
-FGen for Windows 2.0 allows design of multiple filters for use with the DAPL "FIRFILTER" command. It includes support for Kaiser windowing, an option for automatic DC normalisation for low-pass filters, live view of filter coefficient changes and a display layout much like the DCSview?s filter design window. All this is in addition to the functions available in version 1.01
-DAPtools OCX OLE control for Visual Basic, Delphi and other ActiveX containers, allows applications to be rounded out with a GUI. These display window types are available
