MAGMA's patented PCI and PCI Express expansion technology makes the enclosure act as if it were inside the laptop, desktop, workstation or server, and with the range consisting of PCI and PCI Express expansion systems, they enable additional expansion via CardBus, ExpressCard 54/34, PCI and PCIe interfaces.
CardBus and ExpressCard 54/34 to PCI/PCIe expansion systems provide full-length or half-length PCI/PCIe slots in a separate enclosure (chassis) that connect to laptops (which do not have built-in PCI slots) through 32-bit CardBus or ExpressCard 54/34 slots.
PCI and PCIe x1 to PCI/PCIe expansion systems provide additional PCI/PCIe slots for desktops, workstations and servers. This capability can overcome the problem with new servers that do not support 5.0V PCI expansion cards and enables existing 5.0V PCI cards to be kept in service or to use a PCIe x1 interface to accomodate a PCIe x16 card.

The new Magma EB4-1U and EB7 PCIe expansion systems are rackmount PCI Express expansion chassis, EB4-1U and EB7. These provide expansion via a PCIe x8 host card to 4 and 7 slots PCIe x16 slot rackmount chassis, respectively. Thus, Amplicon can now provide a full range of PCI and PCI Express expansion systems as listed below.
