Due to the limitations of industrial hardware graphics adaptors, standard systems would not be capable of running the new 3D Aero desktop feature. To make use of this we can offer a suitable video card to complement your system.
If you are purchasing a Windows XP system which will be upgraded to Vista, you could make use of the Downgrade Rights within the Microsoft Vista Business Edition End User Licence Agreement. With your authorisation we will install Windows XP, whilst supplying you with an OEM copy of the Microsoft Vista Business Edition. With this option you will not be supplied a copy of the Windows XP media or licence.
Customers who have existing Windows XP systems, considering an upgrade can download the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft. This will tell you which editions of Vista your system is capable of running.
We envisage that Windows XP will remain the preferred Microsoft workstation operating system for the majority of our customers. When Windows XP is discontinued in early 2009, we will be able to supply using the Downgrade Rights explained above.
If you wish to discuss you operating system requirements, one of our Sales Engineers will be happy to assist. For further details of Microsoft Vista and Downgrade Rights, please visit the Microsoft web site.
