The ANE-208P has 8 x 10/100Mbps auto-negotiating ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. This means that up to 8 x IP cameras (or other PoE devices) can be powered from the switch over the same Cat 5 cable used for the data connection. This can substantially reduce installation costs by removing the requirement to provide a separate power connection to every camera / device. The gigabit ports on the switch can be used to provide a high bandwidth uplink to a core switch or server or to provide a connection to another ANE-208P.
